The news for 2007 is the change of name for the old NPS to The Freerange Sports Optics British XC Series, a bit of a mouth full, but fantastic news that the series has attracted sponsorship from outside the MTB world to support XC racing. Hopefully with the partnership of event organiser Martyn Salt, the series will reach another level.

The series gets a new category added -

Super Vets, this is for riders aged over 60 and will normally be 2 laps for men and 1 for women.

The other exciting thing about this season is that the first round will be a UCI Class 1 race. This hopefully will mean a good turnout of overseas riders and an exciting weekend of racing.

Each weekend will include the XC Series on Saturdays and the Marathon series on Sundays.

For more details of the Marathon dates and more info on Enduro racing click on the link above. As per usual I’ll be at all events, providing photos and compiling race reports to help spread the news that XC racing is alive and kicking!

See you there...
